About Us
About Us
SEMON, the South Eastern Muslim Organisation of Nigeria, serves as the umbrella body for Muslims in the South East. It aims to unite eastern minority Muslims and propagate Islam, fostering positive relationships with non-Muslims through various activities. SEMON is registered in Nigeria and acts as the community’s spokesperson, overseeing affiliates.
The Igbo Muslim Community, the second-largest religious group in Eastern Nigeria, is growing rapidly. Despite having qualified individuals, Islam’s influence is limited due to a lack of infrastructure. SEMON urgently calls for support from Muslims and Islamic organizations to establish essential institutions such as mosques, schools, and hospitals in the South-East.
This plea highlights the scarcity of Islamic infrastructure in the region, making a compelling case for investment in facilities to address the growing needs of the Muslim community in South-Eastern Nigeria.
